My students from kids 4 and 6 were learning about some holidays. One of the most important in their opinions is Christmas. What do you Know about it?
Christmas Day is a holiday observed generally on December 25 to commemorate the birth of Jesus, the central figure of Christianity. The date is not known to be the actual birthday of Jesus, and may have initially been chosen to correspond with either the day exactly nine months after some early Christians believed Jesus had been conceived, the date of the winter solstice on the ancient Roman calendar, or one of various ancient winter festivals. Christmas is central to the Christmas and holiday season, and in Christianity marks the beginning of the larger season of Christmastide, which lasts twelve days.

My students from Teens 4 read a text about DINOUSAURS and did some activities about them.
What do you know about dinosaurs?
Dinosaurs are a diverse group of animals that were the dominant terrestrial vertebrates for over 160 million years, from the late Triassic period (about 230 million years ago) until the end of the Cretaceous (about 65 million years ago). The extinction of most dinosaur species occurred during the Cretaceous–Tertiary extinction event. The fossil record indicates that birds evolved from theropod dinosaurs during the Jurassic period. The term "dinosaur" was coined in 1842 by the English paleontologist Richard Owen, and derives from Greek δεινός (deinos) "terrible, powerful, wondrous" + σαῦρος (sauros) "lizard". Since the first dinosaur fossils were recognized in the early nineteenth century, mounted dinosaur skeletons have been major attractions at museums around the world, and dinosaurs have become a part of world culture.
And this is a video from Walking with dinosaurs, a BBC TV series. Take a look… It’s very interesting.
My students from Teens 3 read a Shakespeare's biography last week... William Shakespeare was born on April 26th 1564 and he died on April 23rd 1616. He was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon. At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway, with whom he had three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. He then wrote mainly tragedies until about 1608, including Hamlet, King Lear, and Macbeth, considered some of the finest works in the English language. One of his famous romantic tragedy was Romeo and Juliet – two young "star-cross'd lovers"whose deaths ultimately unite their feuding families.
Then, we watched this video and did some activities…
My students from Kids 4 learned Seasons of the year last class and they made beautiful pictures to ilustrate them: By Anna Clara, Francisco, Gustavo, Leonardo and Maria Vitória...
