Another great lip dup video

Hey guys!
Do you know what the term "lip dub" means? I bet you've watched some lip dub video before, but you don't even know it was a lip dub! Well, according to Wikipedia, "a lip dub is a type of video that combines lip synching and audio dubbing to make a music video. It is made by filming individuals or a group of people lip synching while listening to a song or any recorded audio then dubbing over it in post editing with the original audio of the song. (...) The most popular lip dubs are done in a single unedited shot that often travels through different rooms and situations in, say, an office building. They have become popular with the advent of mass participatory video content sites like YouTube"
(complete article: here)

Some months ago, a lip dub of "I gotta a feeling", made by québécois students from a canadian university, was released on the web. Everybody loved it, it was fun and looked like a pro thing. Remember it?

Now, students from another canadian university, the Université de Montréal, released on the web another great lip dub video! This time, they were singing "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" from the punk-rock band The Offspring.
The video clip style is very similar to the one from Quebec: one single shot passing from room to room and a lot of students singing. Very pro, and the song is awesome!
Watch it:

Hope you like it!

Para reír y aprender

A cantar...

Miren cómo actúan bien esos estudiantes de la lengua española. Su maestro, Fábio, les había pedido que interpretaran unas canciones españolas y... vean qué fantástico.

Felicitaciones a todos ellos, no?

Zeitgeist: a must-see movie

Zeitgeist is "the spirit of the times" and/or "the spirit of the age." Zeitgeist is the general cultural, intellectual, ethical, spiritual, and/or political climate within a nation or even specific groups, along with the general ambience, morals, and sociocultural direction or mood of an era (similar to the English word mainstream or trend).

The Zeitgeist Movement is a grass roots campaign to unify the world through a common ideology based on the fundamentals of life and nature. This movement ignores politics, religion and the like, and instead attempts to communicate how all humans are the same at the fundamental level and how it is time we start to work together on a global scale to end the seemingly perpetual conflict and suffering in our current world society.

Therefore, in this great documentary you shall understand why and how your life, culture, information and even your thoughts and opinions are manipulated by social scripts strongly inserted in your life, such as religion, politics, economics and the media.

I dare you to watch it
. You'll never see "the system" the same way you did before. And even if you don't believe in this conspiracy theories stuff, I bet you'll have food for thought at least for the rest of your life.

They explain why and how religion works defining social behaviors, the real part played by the government in the war against the "terrorists", the real explanation for Vietnan War and many other interesting things that I never imagined. A real must-see movie.

There are 12 parts with portuguese subtitles at youtube. Here's the link for Part 1, there you'll find the links for Part 2, 3, 4 etc. The subtitles are a little messed up some parts, so it's a great opportunity to practice your listening (:

Have a nice week!

Humm...hambúrguer!!!!!

It's Halloween!

Teacher Nayra and her students:

El cuerpo de los alumnos

Mira cómo aprenden nuestros alumnos. Todo es una buena diversión, no lo crees?

Un viernes en la vida de Núbia

Todos los viernes me levanto a las seis y veinte. Voy al baño y me ducho. Después me visto y lavo mis dientes.

Obrigado, galera!!!!

Um grande abraço,

Renato Aires.

Missing Twilight's cast already?
Check this out!

Yeah! They're back, at least Kristen and Dakota, in "The Runaways", a hard rock movie based on a band from the 70s composed only by girls, and Kristen is going to play the most famous of all them: Joan Jett!

There isn't any trailer yet, but as soon as I find one be sure that I'll post it!

Dr. Healthy - I love this man!

Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Heart only good for so many beats, and that it... Don't waste on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speed up heart not make live longer; that like say you can extend life of car by driving faster. Want live longer? Take nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does cow eat? Hay and corn. What are these? Vegetables. So, steak nothing more than efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef also good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And pork chop can give 100% recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine. That means they take water out of fruity bit; get even more of goodness that way. Beer also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: If you have body and you have fat, ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Cannot think of single one, sorry. My philosophy: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU NOT LISTENING!!! .... Foods fried in vegetable oil. How getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise muscle, it get bigger. You should only do sit-ups if want bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: You crazy? HELLO ... Cocoa beans! Vegetable!!! Cocoa beans best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming good for figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.
AND.....
For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies:
1. The Japanese eat very little fat
And suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat
And suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine
And suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4 The Italians drink a lot of red wine
And suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats
And suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
CONCLUSION.....
Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Let's try studying Chinese or Russian, ok students? LOL.
